Medal Of Honor Comeback

Medal of Honor, yes it came back; after the series took a long awaited 3 year nap from the market. Medal of Honor made a huge come back from its typical WW2 game play past to today’s Middle-eastern fight. The developers at Danger Close and DICE (same creators of battlefield series) made sure to make this game experience like no other seen before in first person shooters. They collaborated with actual special ops agents to get the feel of what they go through in the face of battle to bring to the player.

Operating directly under the National Command Authority, a relatively unknown entity of handpicked warriors are called on when the mission must not fail. They are the Tier 1 Operators. Over 2 million Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines wear the uniform. Of those, approximately 50 thousand fall under the direct control of the Special Operations Command. The Tier 1 Operator functions on a plane of existence above and beyond even the most highly trained Special Operations Forces. Their exact numbers, while classified, hover in the low hundreds. They are living, breathing, precision instruments of war. They are experts in the application of violence.

There is a new enemy. There is a new war. There is a new warrior. He is Tier 1.

In Medal of Honor you will play as 4 different operatives. Two characters in particular you will revisit and play as more than once. That is Deuce and Rabbit. Deuce is my favorite to play as. He and one other man, Dusty, are two of the most badass game characters you will see. That is because many of the games levels were based on real-life battles or enemy engagements.

The games selling features:

  • Fight Today’s War: Elite Special Forces in a gritty combat campaign using the surgical tactics of Tier 1 Operators combined with the sledgehammer force of Army Rangers.
  • Unparalleled Authenticity: Intense story with incredible pacing and variety set in the rugged Afghanistan landscape, creating a shooter experience only available from the storied Medal of Honor franchise.
  • Online Multiplayer Redefined: Developed by the world-class team at DICE (makers of Battlefield Bad Company 2) this fast paced combat delivers the perfect mix of tactical warfare and all-out action.

Review:

Medal of Honor’s campaign is stunning and fun. It is definitely worth more than one play through. The online play in Medal of Honor is fun. But it is nothing like Call of Duty Modern Warfare which sets the standard for online war shooters. But over all I would say that this game is worth a weekend/ 5-day Rental.

Pros:

  1. Awesome campaign, with ATV’s and AC130 airstrikes
  2. Your fellow soldiers will drill you about shooting enemies which is cool, they keep you on your toes
  3. Good assortment of guns
  4. Cool Cut scenes between missions for easy switching between campaign characters
  5. Tier-1 Mode is another mode to stretch your skills
  6. Many different multi-player game modes
Cons:
  1. Invisible walls that halt you from continuing into certain areas and sometimes halt you from continuing the missions
  2. Having to listen closely to your squad leader for your next objectives
  3. Invincible Friendly A.I.
  4. Short Campaign
  5. Enemy A.I. isn’t that challenging
