Gaming Through The Battles of Star Wars

Up until 2005 Star Wars fans were itching to have a game that let them live the action of the battles in the Star Wars movies. On November 31, 2005 fans got what they were wanting. Star Wars Battlefront 2 was released on Xbox, Playstation 2, and windows. This title was the squeal to the popular Star Wars Battlefront that came out just a year before. But Battlefront 2 wasn’t just a copy paste game.

In Star Wars Battlefront 2 they added tons more for the gamer than it’s previous title. They added a narrative campaign story, more battles, planets, space battles, extra game modes, and even the popular playable jedi. While this game didn’t get any ratings better than 8/10 fans will say it is one of the best Star Wars games that has been released.

Star Wars Battlefront campaign story will have you playing as the 501st Legion, who later become Darth Vader’s “right hand”. You will fight in familiar battles from the movie like on Geonosis,  Kashyyyk, Kamino, the death star, and Yavin IV. All these battles spanning the entire Star Wars story. If you play well enough in a battle you will have the chance to play as special characters like Bobba fett, Han Solo, Obi Wan, Yoda, Anakin, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and more. Star Wars Battlefront 2 isn’t just about playing as your favorite Star Wars characters or playing for your favorite side. Playable teams: CIS droids, the republic, and even the empire. There are also all kinds of vehicles you can drive and pilot. Pilot in all your favorite Star Wars ships like the X-wing fighter, Droid tanks, AT-ST, and more. But how is the replay-ability of this title?

There are different kinds of battle modes you can choose from. Capture the flag, space battles, and hunter battles. Space battles are a fun break from the ground battles you have to fight. Hunter game type is fun where you can play as special characters like, Gungans on Naboo, Snow Monsters on Hoth. Play with friends or against them to see who is the true Star Wars master. So there is game has plenty for the fans to sink their teeth into time and time again.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is truly a classic Star Wars game. If you haven’t played this game yet you are missing out. If you have a copy of the game on Xbox it will work on Xbox 360. My personal rating for this classic title is 5/5. If you love Star Wars games then this one better be on your shelf. And for those who have been waiting patiently for Star Wars Battlefront 3; there is no word that it being developed. It has been bouncing from a few different game studios for the past few years. Hopefully they will bring back a once great title to today’s age of gaming.

Thanks again for viewing another average retro gamer blog post. Stay tuned in for more classic games, new game reviews, tips and tricks. Until next time game on…
